Olopatadine Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, ocular itching and redness due to allergic manifestations.

Description:

Olopatadine is a potent selective anti-allergic / anti-histaminic agent. It antagonizes histamines and acts on human conjunctival mast cells to inhibit the release of pro-inflammatory mediators. Hence, Olopatadine blocks the release of histamines thereby reducing the allergic signs and symptoms that frequently accompany allergic conjunctivitis.

Application and Administration:

The recommended application of Olopatadine is one drop in affected eye two times per day at an interval of 6-8 hours.

Indications:

Olopatadine Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution is indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, ocular itching and redness due to allergic manifestations.

Contraindication:

Olopatadine Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution is contra-indicated in persons with a known hypersensitivity to Olopatadine Hydrochloride or components of the formulation.

Storage:

Store below 30°C. Protect from light & moisture. Do not freeze.

The following side effects have been reported in less than 5% of patients: headache, Asthenia, blurred vision, burning or stinging, dry eye, foreign body sensation & hypersensitivity. Some of these events were similar to the underlying disease being studied.

Keep vial tightly closed when not in use.
Olopatadine Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution should not be used to treat contact lens related irritation.
Patients who wear soft contact lenses and whose eyes are not red should be instructed to wait at least ten minutes after instilling Olopatadine Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution before they insert their contact lenses.
Use the solution within one month after opening the container.
Do not touch the nozzle tip or other dispensing tip to any surface since this may contaminate the solution.
Keep out of reach of children.
