Description:

Nepafenac Ophthalamic Solution 0.1% w/v is a sterile, topical, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic product. Nepafenac is a yellow crystalline substance (powder) highly lipophilic in nature. After topical dosing, nepafenac penetrates the cornea and is converted into a more potent form, Amfenac by virtue of enzyme hydrolase which is present in the ocular tissues. Amfenac molecules are more potent than nepafenac. These molecules are released into the anterior and the posterior segment of the eye ball to provide the sustained anti-inflammatory effect.

Indications:

Nepafenac Ophthalmic Solution 0.1% w/v is indicated particularly in treatment of pain and inflammation associated with cataract surgery.

Contraindications:

Nepafenac is contra-indicated in patients with previously demonstrated hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in the formulation or to other NSAIDS.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light & moisture. Do not freeze.
Keep out of reach of children.
Use the solution within one month after opening the container.
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. NOT FOR INJECTION.

One drop of Nepafenac Ophthalmic Solution 0.1% w/v should be applied to the affected eyes three times daily, beginning one day prior to cataract surgery, continued on the day of surgery and through the first two weeks of the post operative period or as directed by the Physician.
